This highly customized design solves a complex layout with intention, personality, and warmth. The wet bar was strategically relocated to draw guests deeper into the space, encouraging natural gathering around the island and near the fireplace.

Three distinct cabinetry finishes were selected to harmonize with the countertops the homeowners loved while giving the room layered character. The perimeter features a painted finish with subtle antiqued striations. The island, crafted from espresso-stained rift-cut white oak, introduces depth, while the knotty alder flanking the fireplace ties effortlessly to the existing wood flooring.

Every detail was customized for the couple who intends to age in place on the lower level of this home. The hood is mounted slightly lower than standard to suit the primary cook’s height — a reminder that thoughtful design is always personal.
